TMD and the Urbanek Splint!

TMD and the Urbanek Splint!

What is the difference between TMJ and TMD? TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint whereas TMD stands for temporomandibular joint disorder. One simply refers to the joint itself while the other refers to disorders characterized by inflammation or misalignment of the TMJ. Numerous patients suffer from TMD and its related symptoms. These symptoms include:

  • Headaches
  • Earaches
  • Neck pain
  • Jaw pain
  • Shoulder/arm pain
  • Tinnitus
  • Hearing loss
  • Vertigo
  • Jaw locking

We live in stressful times and for the vast majority of TMD patients, symptoms are due to clenching and grinding of their teeth. For those who suffer from TMD we offer successful and affordable treatment options. One option is the Urbanek TMJ Device. Since we began offering the patented Urbanek TMJ Device (U.S. PAT #9314320 FDA Cleared), we have been able to duplicate Dr. Urbanek’s success with most patients achieving 80-95% reduction in TMJ symptoms WITHOUT surgery and WITHOUT drugs. This medical device is extremely well tolerated which significantly increases compliance and success. As an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon and medical doctor, who strives to contribute to my patient's wellbeing, I can ensure that all Urbanek device patients are successfully treated, bringing relief from TMJ pain and related symptoms to a greater number of patients suffering from this disorder.
